start the 2018 competition season in music city!

On March 9-10, 2018 in Nashville, Smoke on the Shores will host a 90 team professional BBQ competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) and a separate 75 team steak cookoff sanctioned by the Steak Cookoff Association (SCA).  

KCBS Professional BBQ Competition

The 2018 Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship will host professional BBQ competition teams from across the U.S. to compete in four categories: Ribs, Chicken, Pork and Brisket. These professional BBQ teams will compete for prize money totaling over $10,000 and points towards being the KCBS national BBQ team of the year. 

The 2018 Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). KCBS sanctions and judges BBQ competitions across the U.S. and promotes barbeque as America's cuisine. It is the largest society of barbeque enthusiasts in the world, with over 19,000 members. KCBS sanctions nearly 450 events across the globe each year.

SCA Steak Cookoff Competition

The 2018 Smoke on the Shores Steak Cookoff Championship will host some of the nation’s master steak grillers to see who has the culinary skills to take home the Grand Championship.  Teams will be furnished with three (3) 16 oz. Braveheart Ribeye Steaks, provided by Performance Foodservice, to showcase their grilling skills.  The steak cookoff teams will compete for prize money totaling $3,000 and the Grand Champion will receive automatic entry into the 2018 SCA World Championship.  

The Smoke on the Shores Steak Cookoff Championship is sanctioned by the Steak Cookoff Association (SCA).  SCA sanctions and judges steak cookoffs and is dedicated to “building the sport of steak cookoffs”.  SCA sanctions over 120 events across the globe each year.
